Hot Spas In Central Mongolia And Kharkhorin
About this tour
This is a unique tour which is focused mainly on visiting Hot spas in Central Mongolia. Also it includes visiting two historical sites on the way such as Khar-Khorin and Khushuu Tsaidam not to mention visiting and staying overnight at Khustai National Park where are the wild horses.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Elsen Tasarkhai (Sand Dune Mini Gobi), Högönö-Taranaiin-Hüree, Mongolia
We will head South west from UB and reach the Elsen Tasarkhai, which is a mini gobi in the middle of steppe. Hiking to near Mountain of Khugnu Khaan8 riding camels. Staying overnight in the local nomad's ger.
Day 2: Elsen Tasarkhai (Sand Dune Mini Gobi), Högönö-Taranaiin-Hüree, Mongolia to Tsenkher Hot Spring Resort, Altan-Ovoo, Mongolia
We will drive further south-west and arrive to the most famous Hot spring in Central Mongolia, which is the Tsenkher Hot spring. The surrounding nature is beautiful with forest, small spring which takes the start from the actual hot spring. There are many resorts, at one of them we will stay overnight.
Day 3: Tsenkher Hot Spring Resort, Altan-Ovoo, Mongolia to Tsagaan sum camp, Хотонт, Mongolia
This is another Hot spring in the Arkhangai province and it is less crowded and the atmosphere is close to the nomadic life style with the gers. Horse riding is available
Day 4: Tsagaan sum camp, Хотонт, Mongolia to Kharkhorin, Mongolia
We will drive to Orkhon river valley, to Khar-Khorin. This is the place where was the capital of the Great Mongolian Empire. We will visit the small but interesting museum and the Erdene zuu monastery, one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries survived today.
Day 5: Kharkhorin, Mongolia to Khulij resort, Mogod, Mongolia
We will head North into Bulgan province where this Hot spring is located. The soum ( the smallest admin unit of Mongolia) Mogod is very famous for it horses and the mare's fermented milk- airag. This Hot spring is a jewel and very much know to tourist.
Day 6: Khulij resort, Mogod, Mongolia to Hustai National Park, Mongolia
We will drive back to UB and on the way we will visit Hustai National Park and stay overnight in their camp. Here we can observe the Tahi or the Mongolian wild horses and some other wild animals such as deer, marmots...
Day 7: Hustai National Park, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
In the morning we visit the Mongolian Bankhar dog Project and then head directly to UB.
