The Issyk burial ground consists of 45 large mounds, stretching from north to south for 3 kilometers. In 1969, the ancient Saki mound Issyk, widely known throughout the world, was discovered here. Under it, in a grave lined with spruce logs, the remains of a Saka king in clothes made of pure gold were found. Nowadays, a small monument has been erected at the site where the “Golden Man” was found. Next we get a view of the pearl of the Trans-Ili Alatau lake. Issyk. According to scientists, the lake was formed 8 thousand years ago as a result of a huge mountain collapse, which created a natural dam 300 meters high. Oz. Issyk (another name of the lake is Esik, which means “door” in Kazakh) is located at an altitude of 1780 meters above sea level and is surrounded by unusually beautiful nature. Turgen waterfalls are one of the most visited tourist places in the Almaty region. They are located in a beautiful gorge in the Ile-Alatau National Park. There are 7 waterfalls in the Turgen Gorge. The most visited of them are: the first "Bear" and the second "Kairak". The first waterfall (30 meters high) is located in a picturesque place among overhanging rocks. The rocks in the tract were broken by an earthquake and contain imprints of plants from the pre-glacial period. 300 meters above the bridge from which you usually go to the "Bear" waterfall, there is a "source of beauty", a spring with tasty and cold spring water. The excursion to the Turgen waterfalls turns out to be more eventful, due to visits to the Ostrich Farm and Trout Farm along the way.
