Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Kyzyl-Art Pass, Tajikistan to Murghab, Tajikistan
Meeting with a driver at the border crossing. Driving towards the Murghab. Stop in Karakul village to hike for a few hours. Continue the drive to Murghab via passing the highest point of the Pamir Highway, Ak-Bait pass (4655 m).
Day 2: Murghab, Tajikistan to Langar, Tajikistan
Today we will head towards the Wakhan valley. Side trip to visit the coldest place in Tajikistan, Bulunkul village and Yashilkul lake. Short stop (2-3 hrs) to stretch out legs on a nice hike yo the viewpoint of the Khargushi pass from the top of which we will have breathtaking view of the whole Wakhan valley.
Day 3: Langar, Tajikistan to Vichkut-i Bolo, Vrang, Tajikistan
Today we will have the whole day of hiking to the meadows of the Engels peak. Good hiking shoes are must have. After the hike we will drive to Bibi-Fatima to soak in a hot spring.
Day 4: Vichkut-i Bolo, Vrang, Tajikistan to Khorog, Tajikistan
After breakfast we will head to Khorog. On the way a few stops to see the ruins of Kah-Kaa fortress, pre-Islamic shrines.
Day 5: Khorog, Tajikistan to Jizev, Rŭshan, Tajikistan
Before heading to Bartang valley we will have a few hours Khorog city tour: Botanical garden, city park and bazar. After that we will drive to Bartang valley to hike (1.5-2 hrs) to Jizew village located 8 km up the main road.
Day 6: Jizev, Rŭshan, Tajikistan to Kalaikhum, Tajikistan
In the morning hiking down the main road and driving to Kalai-Khumb. We will have a few stops to enjoy the view of the beautiful Afghan villages along the Panj (Oxus) River.
Day 7: Kalaikhum, Tajikistan to Dushanbe, Tajikistan
Today is the last day of our Pamir trip. In the morning after the breakfast we will depart for Dushanbe. On the way we will stop to discover Hamadoni Mausoleum and to enjoy the view of the Nurek artificial dam.
