Ibrahim's car was clean, comfortable and spacious and in good condition, and we could not have asked for a better car. It came equipped with a full toolkit in case something does go wrong on the road (which is nearly inevitable on the Pamir Highway). We met plenty of people along the way with horror stories about their cars, and saw many broken down vehicles along our ride, so we were glad we found a car in good condition. Ibrahim also helped us plan our itinerary before setting off and was responsive on our trip (including sending a mechanic to look at the car in Khorog very quickly).

We had a fantastic experience renting our Land Cruiser from Ibrahim and couldn’t recommend him highly enough. From the moment we first contacted him, he was incredibly helpful, attentive and easy to communicate with.
Throughout our trip, Ibrahim was always available whenever we had a question or needed advice, responding quickly and genuinely going out of his way to help us. His knowledge of the area and the roads was invaluable, particularly while travelling through the Pamirs, and it was really reassuring knowing we could contact him if we needed anything.
The Land Cruiser was perfect for the adventure and allowed us to experience some truly incredible parts of Tajikistan. What really made the experience, though, was Ibrahim himself. He is genuinely kind, trustworthy and incredibly helpful, and made the whole rental process feel easy and personal.
We would absolutely rent from Ibrahim again and would recommend him to anyone looking for a 4x4 in Tajikistan. Thank you for everything, Ibrahim!

Very bad experience – I definitely do not recommend Ibrahim
We arrived in Dushanbe after agreeing with Ibrahim in advance on the rental cars, the price, and the conditions. Unfortunately, once we arrived, everything started to change.
First, he began asking us again about our exact route and then told us that we were allowed to drive only 250 km per day even though before our arrival he had clearly told me 350 km per day
The night before we were supposed to take the cars, we met with him and suddenly the agreed price became an issue We had agreed in advance on $140 per day, but he started saying that he could not believe he had given us such a low price, that $140 was not enough, and that he now wanted $170 per day
The insurance conditions also suddenly changed Before we arrived, we were told that $25 insurance would cover everything. Once we were there, it became $35 for each person in the car, and we were told that even then it would cover only 50%.
Throughout the conversation, he repeatedly told us that his cars were very expensive and that the price he had given us was too lowBut this is not the customer’s responsibility If you agree on a price and conditions in advance, especially with tourists traveling from another country and planning their entire trip around these vehicles, you should honor the agreement
In the end, he refused to give us the cars at the price and under the conditions we had agreed on, leaving us in Dushanbe without vehicles and seriously disrupting our travel plans. He also did not return our deposit
The whole experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional\. We felt that prices and conditions were being changed at the last minute, when we had already arrived and had very limited alternatives.
If you are considering renting from him, I strongly recommend getting every single detail in writing beforehand the final daily price, allowed kilometers per day, insurance cost, exactly what the insurance covers, the deposit terms, and all other conditions\.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Ibrahim at all

We rented Ibrahim’s automatic Land Cruiser Prado for 15 days, Dushanbe to Osh, self-driving the Pamir Highway.
From the first message Ibrahim was responsive, clear and honest - every cost was laid out up front with no surprises. He arranged our GBAO permits and OVIR registration smoothly and sorted the other paperwork.
The car was in good condition and handled everything the route threw at it. He also arranged the car to be checked by his mechanic in Khorog.
Ibrahim gave us thoughtful route advice, recommended great homestays and was reachable immediately when we had an issue or question.
The return of the car was incredibly simple and went very smoothly. He returned our deposit on drop-off in Osh, exactly as agreed.
Self driving the Pamir is an incredible way to do it, and Ibrahim makes the whole thing easy and trustworthy. We’d recommend him without hesitation. Thank you, Ibrahim!

Communication with Ibrahim was very pleasant and fast and he is very kind and helpful.
The car was in very good shape and handled the difficult roads of Pamir Highway with ease. It had an additional reserve tank so we didn’t have to worry about gas much.
The only issues were the payment which we learned very late had to be done in cash so we had to spent 150 EUR in fees to get cash in Dushanbe (with German cards) and the camping equipment we rented was in bad shape (tent/sleeping bag not closing properly, didnt include chairs or table that were mentioned).
In general was a very good trip though. Thanks Ibrahim!

We had the most incredible time in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan self driving in the 2007 landscruiser. This vehicle was reliable, safe, and we encountered no issues at all whilst on the trip. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone wanting to book. Ibrahim was responsive and helpful, when we encountered issues at the border. For anyone considering this, I would reccomend - we found everything safe, everyone welcoming and the driving easy. Would recommend printing at least 10 copies of your passport for police checks if you are driving the Pamir Highway from Dushanbe to Osh.

We had an amazing trip at the Pamir Highway. Thanks to Ibrahim, a super host! He is really involved, responds quick and reacts quick and accurate when anything happens. That made us feel very safe and covered during the trip. We drove ourselves and truly recommend it! No troubles at all. Advice to all travelers: bring enough cash with you ;)

I rented a Toyota Land Cruiser with Ibrahim for three weeks in June 2026, pick-up in Dushanbe, drop off in Osh. All in all I had a very positive experience with Ibrahim and the car itself was excellent! It was in perfect condition, I was super happy with it. A few important things that I think contributed to a smooth process: I ensured that all conditions were well discussed before getting to Dushanbe and all costs were clearly stated, no hidden costs. Ibrahim was very responsive in our communications through Indyguide and it was easy to clarify everything in advance with him. When I got to Dushanbe the pick up went smoothly. Two tips that were important in my case: if you are crossing the border check that the power of attorney documents are correct. The officers at the border complained about the documents we had but fortunately I got Ibrahim on the phone and he sorted it out with them. The other thing is to agree how you want to have your deposit returned. We did it through Paypal at Ibrahim's request and it worked fine for us. In conclusion I was very satisfied with Ibrahim's service and had a great experience driving his car on the Pamir highway. I can recommend his services to anyone wanting to do the same.

We have rented Ibrahim‘s Toyota Landcruiser for a ten day round trip along Pamir Highway beginning in Osh. The communication with Ibrahim before and during our trip was excellent, he was always approachable for us. Also, the necessary paper work (for crossing the borders) was prepared well.
The car itself is the perfect companion for an off road adventure. It was really fun driving it. Both the car and the roof tent is very spacious which was crucial in the windy and rough weather conditions.
All in all, it was a good organized trip and we would definitely recommend booking with Ibrahim. Thanks a lot!

Big thanks to Ibrahim!
We rented a car for 14 days to drive the Pamir Highway, Dushanbe to Osh.
From the first message Ibrahim was very helpful, kind and answered all the questions.
We got Toyota Land Cruiser 100, and the car was ideal. It was like new. Perfect condition. Not to mention, it was super clean, well maintained, and was checked along the way by his mechanic, which we met in Khorog.
We also rented sleeping bags and mattresses, which were handy for the cold nights in Eastern Pamirs. And in addition, Ibrahim added us 2 chairs and trangia with gas for cooking, as we cooked ourselves.
If we had questions, we send him a message and got the answers shortly.
Everything was very clear about the payment and we could be more happy, that we chose Ibrahim.
We also felt safe along the way, because many people knew Ibrahim's car, and would ask if everything is fine. We knew, if something would happen, we would not be left alone.
We also stayed in Ibrahim's family homestay in Khorog, which was a lovely place and it was nice to meet a family.
So, we highly recommend Ibrahim! He seems like a fun guy if you wish someone to drive you.
And we highly recommend drive the road by yourself. You can stop in so many places, choose where to sleep, where to have lunch, where to slow down. We observed ibex, marmots, many birds and believe, that it is not always possible, when you have a driver. Also, having the views from the front seat is not measured by money. It's priceless ❤️
Thank You so much! This trip meant a lot to us and we already miss the car 😀 it made the driving super enjoyable!
If we would do it again, we would choose Ibrahim and we would choose to camp along the way!

Ibrahim made great job. We rented a car for 3 days . Good comunication. A bit expensive but worth to pay .Everything was perfectly timed. I reccomend Ibrahim and his car.

We did a 13-day trip from Dushanbe to Osh and back via the Pamir Highway, including a detour through the Wakhan Corridor. For this I can honestly recommend Ibrahim's car and service.
We drove Ibrahim’s Toyota Land Cruiser 76 (manual). It was the perfect car for the trip as it's built for off-road conditions and well suited to the terrain.
Ibrahim checked in with us every couple of days to see how we were doing and whether everything was fine with the car. Whenever we asked him for travel advice, he responded quickly and was always helpful.
Self-driving the Pamir Highway and Wakhan Corridor is absolutely possible if you take your time and drive carefully. The route leads through some of the most beautiful and varied landscapes you can imagine.

We did a 2-day tour with a driver on the Pamir Highway from Dushanbe to Kalaikhum. We had originally planned to self-drive but decided against it after seeing the road conditions in Central Asia.
Our experience with Ibrahim was mixed. He was friendly and arranged for a last minute driver, but as others have mentioned, he tends to push for extra money. Before we confirmed with another guide, he tried to charge us additional fees for a power of attorney document and GBAO permits, on top of the already steep €500 for two days. At pickup, he added another €50—first claiming it was for the unused power of attorney (which we never received), then saying it covered Indy Guide’s 10% deposit. That’s not how deposits work, and it left a bad impression.
The car (an older 4Runner) wasn’t in perfect shape, but the driver handled its issues professionally, which reinforced our decision not to self-drive. Overall, the trip itself was fine, but I’d strongly encourage Ibrahim to be more transparent with pricing and avoid pressuring tourists into paying beyond what was agreed.
★★★★★
There is no way I can fault any interactions we had with Ibrahim. Clear concise communication from start to finish, no quibbles about the return of money, due to us giving him some incorrect information. We inadvertently left something in the car, after we returned it, a phone call and he dropped it back to us.
He didn't hesitate to have 4 new A/T tyres to be fitted, after his staff delivered the vehicle, a minor inconvenience, but sorted out overnight so no real impact on our rental time.

Everything went really well, good communication, good support via whatsapp, car in good shape.

Wow, I cannot even begin to explain how professional, attentive and helpful Ibrahim was during our 7 day self drive of the Pamirs. From the start Ibrahim was quick to respond with answers to any of our enquiries, he helped us with our GBAO permits, locations on where to stay for the night and a recommended itinerary for our 7 days. I have rented cars all over the world and this was by far the most seamless and effortless experience. The 4Runner we rented was capable at tackling the rough road conditions of the Pamirs and it couldn’t have been a more perfect car for the job.
Ibrahim and his family offer a home stay in Khorugh which we highly recommend. It was clean, cosy and comfortable and the meals were great. Ibrahim’s mechanic also did a check up of the car for added reassurance for us on our drive.
If you are thinking of driving the Pamirs, whether is he self driven or with Ibrahim as a guide, you’d be silly not to rent from him!
★★★★
Ibrahim offers a great service and the car he gave us was great. He even organized to fix some minor problems after day 3 of the ride. I can recommend booking with him.
However one thing we didn’t like is that he seemingly tried to get more money out of us. For example he just booked a guesthouse for us in Khorog without asking us and it was more expensive than what we normally pay, so we had to cancel the booking he made. He also wanted to charge a ridiculous amount of diesel to fill up the rest of the tank at the end and we had to argue 30 minutes with him to get it down to a reasonable amount. This left a slightly bitter taste to an otherwise great service.
At the end I would still recommend Ibrahim, as the car and organization was absolutely perfect and he helped us with many things. When you book with him just make sure not to pay any extra money

Ibrahim organised an unforgettable 15-day trip through Tajikistan for my friends and me. Although we are all experienced drivers who prefer independent travel, we decided to rent a Toyota Land Cruiser with a driver due to the challenging nature of the roads.
Ibrahim was friendly and accommodating, meeting us right after we arrived in Dushanbe to finalise the details of our itinerary. One adjustment we had to make was shortening our trip through the Pamirs by one day because of a road closure at Tavildara, which made our schedule a bit tight, given our extensive itinerary.
Our journey comprised two parts: the Fann Mountains and the Pamir Mountains. Ibrahim provided different vehicles and drivers for each part, and drivers Baha and Azul were both excellent and reliable, ensuring we always felt perfectly safe. Any communication challenges we faced with the drivers, who only spoke Tajik—a language we sadly hadn’t learned—were resolved by Ibrahim.
We stayed in carefully selected homestays that provided a comfortable experience throughout the trip. We also had several opportunities for independent hiking, including at Kulikalon Lake, Alauddin Lake, Jizev Village, and the Engels Meadows trek. Unfortunately, illness and adverse weather conditions limited our hiking activities.
Ibrahim kindly organised our transport to Khujand at the end of our trip. On our return to Uzbekistan, we encountered border issues due to not being properly registered. I highly recommend checking with Ibrahim to ensure all necessary documents are prepared for border crossing.
Thank you, Ibrahim, for an incredible experience and support during our adventure—especially in the Bartang Valley, which was the highlight of our journey through the Pamirs.

We rented the Toyota LandCruiser from Ibrahim and had no issues driving around Tajikistan including Bartang Valley, the car is really powerful and has a huge tank so we had no problems with fuel. Ibrahim is very responsive and friendly and helped in providing invitation letter for the visa. The car is very expensive, we paid 165$/day (without any insurance), but that seems to be the norm in Tajikistan. We paid 1000 dollars deposit, although everyone else in the comments seems to have paid 800, had no issue getting it back. Everything went smoothly for us, but that said I think everyone should know what they are going for: the tires are really worned out and need to be replaced, especially on a car with no insurance, the fuel indicator was not working, one of the booth doors was not working. I also think that on Tajik roads, which can be terrible, a 4x4 car for this premium price should come with a proper shovel, proper tow rope- we bought these things ourselves on a 13 days trip. We were lucky as in late September the road has generally none of the issues it does the rest of the year. I would normally close an eye on this, but not when I'm paying so much money. Overall though it was an amazing trip, and we had zero issues with the car, and I can recommend renting this car and I would rent myself again, but not without double checking all these issues.

We followed on Ibrahim offered route. It was helpful. The Toyota RAV4 was enough for the trip. Would be helpful to get more detailed information as: how many liters use Toyota, offer to have extra canisters for a benzin, who and where will return deposit, Kirgiz - Kazak border crossing process. For us as Europa citizens a lot thing were new and as surprise. Despite remarks, we finished our trip successfully. Thank you.

Everything was great. I rented a car and drove the Pamir Highway for 10 days. The car was reliable and contact with Ibrahim was good.

Ibrahim is such a VIP in the Pamir, everyone knows him and his cars.
We rented the 4 Runner, not a new one but it worked perfectly and the trip was really smooth. Check for all the fees, maybe can be a little chaotic to figure out all the expenses to pay, but overall still the best solution for a self drive in the Pamir. Thank you Ibrahim.

In Tajikistan, you can't rent an off-road vehicle from an international car hire company. I was therefore happy to get to know Vladimir via the IndyGuidy portal: very friendly, quick responses, all promises were honoured. The Toyota LandCruiser was a little older than expected, but so I was travelling in classic 4x4. The car was in very good condition and very clean - at least when I picked it up ;-)
Unfortunately, I didn't get to know Vladimir personally, but his staff handled the hire well.
You need to know is that the cars are not insured in Tajikistan, which is the risk you have to bear as a self-driver - at least with the USD 800 deposit.

We rented a Toyota Land cruiser for the Pamir highway. The car is old, but in very good condition and worked well. The tires are a bit worned out, but no problem on the roads. Ibrahim was responsive and knowledgeable about Pamirs.
★★★★★
We rented the 200 series Land Cruiser for four days in the Fann mountains. The car performed fine and Ibrahim communicated well before our trip. It is pricey but there aren't really any other options to rent a 4x4 off-road vehicle in Tajikistan with pick up and drop off in separate locations (we picked up in Dushanbe and dropped off in Panjakent for $150). One thing to keep in mind: you will need to pay the balance in cash on pick up plus $800 deposit.

Car was fine, durable and reliable; Good communication with the host;

I was organazing the trip myself and Ibrahim was a life saver! We rented a Toyota Land Cruiser from him for a self-drive Pamir Highway adventure (might be the only self-drive option for Pamir). Start in Osh (Kyrgyzstan), finish in Dushanbe (Tajikistan). He helped us with the entire itinerary (things to see, where to sleep, border crossing, etc.) He was super responsive at all times and kept us updated regarding things happening on the road and what to be aware of. The car was great, no problems even on rough off-road terrain. The A/C works great.
The only advice I have for future travelers: If you are crossing from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan, make sure with Ibrahim on time you have all the neccessary documentation. Local authorities can be tricky.
Thank you Ibrahim, without you our Pamir adventure wouldn’t have been possible! :)
★★★★★
Great solution for renting a car without a driver (almost the only one in the country). Ibrahim helped us a lot for all we needed, like getting our GBAO permits, and he brought the car to our hotel.
Unfortunately, because of the lack of concurrence, the price is a bit expensive (20$ for the car wash for example, while we could have done it ourselves), especially for a 20 years old car that have seen a lot of road, makes weird (sometimes concerning) noises, and can be a bit capricious. But everything went fine for our travel !
★★★★★
What an amazing adventure and what an amazing partnership with Ibrahim. Since even before the booking, till the last day of the trip in Kyrgyzstan, Ibrahim has helped with everything we needed for the trip. He even managed everything with his partner in Kyrgyzstan so we were able to pass the Taji-Kyrgy border without any trouble, despite all the challenges.
He was always making sure our trip was going smoothly and guiding us every step of the way. Unfortunately we had a little incident on the road, but Ibrahim was very understanding and he was very fair and reasonable when accessing the damage to the car. His first concern was always our well-being, but fortunately it was just a small fender bender.
It was a memorable trip and Ibrahim was an integral part of it because he made us feel safe, calm and with nothing to worry about, other than enjoying our trip.

We rented a Toyota Landcruiser 76, which is an incredibly reliable car, where we drove more than 2000 km all over Tajikistan, including the Pamir highway, without any problems. The car has a legendary passability for all terrains and can be recommended for all the roads we encounter in Tajikistan. Ibrahim supports us well and offers a free car check during our trip including oil refill and also provides a nice stay at Like Home guest house in Khorog which was very nice. Ibrahim could help with all permits and any other request in advance to allow us to arrive to Dushanbe by plane, just picking up the car according to our preferences and the same for drop-off at midnight on the airport.
★★★★★
Ibrahim's overall rating is high. I appreciate Ibrahim's professionalism (he was helpful, able to advise). We met on the route and his recommendations were helpful.
Unfortunately, the Toyota RAV4 car was too weak for the mountainous routes. At several points, even in the lowest gear, there was an uphill problem.
The cost of renting a car and the method of payment requires separate attention. The rental price is too high in my opinion, which is probably due to the lack of competition. In addition, payment in cash plus a cash deposit creates some difficulties.
Despite these remarks, I am satisfied with the car rental because the whole trip went without any major problems. And it must be said that most of the roads in Tajikistan are of very poor quality.

We rented the Toyota 4Runner from Ibrahim to drive the Pamir Highway by ourself. We picked up the car in Dushanbe and delivered it in Osh five days later. The car was good to drive and I would recommend to use a 4x4 car for the Pamir Highway as the road is bumpy and a lot on gravel. The pick up and drop of worked great and the car was so big that we could sleep one of the nights in it. We punctured one of the tires close to Osh, but the car had a spare tire and tools to fix it, so 20 minutes later we where on the road again. A great adventure and a great car!

Ibrahim brought my friend and I on an exciting 5 day adventure from Dushanbe to Khorog to the Afghan Wakhan, with a day hiking trip to Jizev thrown in. He was prompt in his responses during the planning process, always friendly and cool, and took time to make sure we were always ok on the trip. 5 days is a bit packed for our itinerary, but he was very quick to adapt on the spot and make sure we had the best experience possible. His wide network of friends in the tourism industry in Khorog and Sultan Ishkashim sped up the administrative processes in Tajikistan and Afghanistan. Most importantly, he always was ready to show off the traditional Tajik hospitality. Thanks Ibrahim! :)
