About this tour
When visiting Mongolia you want to get acquainted and experience all the traditions of the Mongolian and Kazakh people, then this tour is designed just for you. We invite you to Western Mongolia. Admiring the beauty of the Altai Mountains, you go hunting with golden eagles with famous hunters. Live together with local nomads and get to know their traditions and daily life, at the same time play national games and listen to national music, you can even make Morin khuur traditional musical instruments together with the master. Archery, horseback riding, catch and train wild horses, builds yurts with family members. All these activities are included in this unique tour.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Ulgii, Mongolia
Day 1. 03/15. After arriving in Ulgii city at the airport you will be met by our team (driver, guide and cook). Have breakfast in one coffee shop in the city of Ulgii. After a long drive (180 km, 5-6 hours) you will go to Tsagaan gol valley and visit to Tuvan family and get to know their life and traditions. On the way, you can see stone mans of the Turkic age and large burial grounds, Khirgisuurs and modern graves of the Kazakh people of various types. Overnight in the Tuvan family. B.L.D.
Day 2: Ulgii, Mongolia to Altai Tavan Bogd Ranger, Mongolia
Day 2. 03/16.Today, after breakfast, you, together with a horse guide, on horseback go to Mount Shivet Khairkhan and see a beautiful view of the snow covered peaks of Altai Tavan Bogd Mountain. Shivet Khairkhan is a sacred mountain of the Tuvan people. Mountain is famous for its rich wildlife, specifically Siberian ibex. Explore the area, see the Petroglyphs. Overnight in the Tuvan family. Day 3: Altai Tavan Bogd Ranger, Mongolia to Uujim, Mongolia
Day 3. 03/17. Today after breakfast you will go to the family of a hunter located Sagsai vvillage. Sagsai is the birthplace of famous Eagle hunters. Get to know the everyday life of a simple nomadic family. Every nomadic herders have busy time for welcoming newborn baby animals in spring between February to April. You will be helping the family with this hard work. Overnight in the hunter's family. B.L.D.
Day 4: Uujim, Mongolia
Day 4. 03/18. Today you will be participating in a real hunt. After breakfast, you and the hunter on horseback go to the hunting site. The eagle hunters will ride up to high peak overlooking a wild valley. Out in the Altai Mountains, you really can see for many ,many miles from these peaks. All day you will see how the process of hunting with golden eagles takes place. Horse riding. Overnight in the hunters family. B.L.D
Day 5: Uujim, Mongolia to Rashaant, Mongolia
Day 5. 03/19. Today you are visiting the family of another hunter who lives 200 km away in the village Deluun (4 hours drive). You will be attending an event to be held at this location Nauryz Eagle festival. Overnight in the hunters family. B.L.D.
Day 6: Rashaant, Mongolia
Day 6. 03/20. Second day of Nauryz Eagle festival. Overnight in the hunters family. B.L.D ( No shower)
Day 7: Rashaant, Mongolia to Khovd, Mongolia
Day 7. 03/21. Today you will drive to Hovd city (about 150km 4-5 hours drive). Today you are visiting the family of the famous throat singer and also he is very good at playing Mongolian traditional musical instruments like Morin khuur. He has a small shop where he will make musical instruments. Overnight in the family. B.L.D.
Day 8: Khovd, Mongolia
Day 8.9. 03/22-03/23. For two days you will learn and make, together with the master, the musical instrument Morin Khur with previously prepared materials. Overnight in the family. B.L.D.
Day 9: Khovd, Mongolia

Day 10: Khovd, Mongolia
Day 10. 03/24. Today you are visiting the family of another nomad. He will show you another game of the Mongols so-called archery. Overnight in the family. B.L.D.

Day 11. 03/25. Visiting local herders family, where you can see playing native games like shamans.Overnight in the family. B.L.D.
Day 12: Khovd, Mongolia to Khovd Restaurant, Khovd, Mongolia
Day 12. 03/26. Catching and training horses. Overnight in the family. B.L.D.
Day 13: Khovd, Mongolia
Day 13. 03/27. Help to nomads to building yurt. Overnight in the family. B.L.D.
Day 14: Khovd, Mongolia to Ulgii, Mongolia
Day 14.03/28. Drive back to Olgii city. Overnight at the hotel B.L.D.

We know how to serve vegetarians. The climate: Mongolia has a high elevation, with a cold and dry climate. It has a extreme continental climate. Spring in Mongolia is windy and begins in March until the end of May. The average day temperature of Mongolian Altai spring is -3 to +12 degrees during day time and -16 to +2 degrees at night.
