Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Ulgii, Mongolia
ULGII TOWN, WESTERN MONGOLIA Fly to Ulgii town. Our tour guide will pick you up at airport and take you to your hotel which will be the one of the best. After the lunch at a restaurant you will have time to explore Ulgii and its surroundings with your guide. Visit the town museum, the open air market and a hill top lookout that gives good view of the town. Some rest at your hotel before the dinner. Free time to walk in the town center after the dinner. Overnight.
Day 2: Ulgii, Mongolia to Chikhertei, Mongolia
NOMAD HERDER FAMILY Take a 4hour to a nomad herder family located near Altai Tavan Bogd NP. The family lives in the mountains and the man of the family is a falconer who owns a beautiful golden eagle. You will have the chance to see the eagle and experience the warm hospitality of the family. Overnight is in yurt or tent.
Day 3: Chikhertei, Mongolia
NOMAD DAY In this most immersive and authentic experience day with the herders you can observe and participate their daily activities such as milking animals, preparing dairy and local food. In mountain fresh you will take the best sleep of yours so far in a Kazakh ger (yurt).
Day 4: Chikhertei, Mongolia

Day 5: Chikhertei, Mongolia to By the Khovd river
TOWARD ALTAI TAVAN BOGD NP Drive towards Altai Tavan Bogd national park. Due to the long distance, you will get closer to the park stop by Khovd river for overnight camping after driving through desert like mountain valleys and hills.
Day 6: By The Khovd River to Khoton Lake
NATIONAL PARK LAKES After a short drive reach to the lakes area of national park around noon time. Beautiful forested mountain landcape over two freshwater lakes welcomes you. You will see white egg-like gers spread along the mountains and the area is summer campsite for locar herders. You will drive to a great camping spot by Khoton lake. Enjoy the rest of your day by taking walks along the shores of the lovely lake.
Day 7: Khoton Lake to Waterfall
WATERFALL After breakfast drive to a nearby valley to see a attractive waterfall. Both the drive and hike are short but the charm of the valley is endless. Hiking back to the vehicle drive to the camp. Lunch. You can go for ancient time rock carvings on the hill next to the camp and swimming. Time to enjoy your day.
Day 8: Khoton Lake to Ulgii, Mongolia
BACK TO ULGII Drive back to Ulgii. Check in your hotel and do some souvenir shopping for hand embroidered souvenirs. Farewell dinner at a restaurant.
Day 9: Ulgii, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Fly back to Ulaanaatar. We’ll transfer you to the airport. Fly out of Ulgii to Ulaanbaatar.
