Day 1: Nukus, Uzbekistan
• Drive out to the Mizdakhan Necropolis, one of Karakalpakstan's oldest and most sacred sites, dating back to the 4th century BC. Guests explore ancient mausoleums, tombs, and ruins layered with centuries of legend and pilgrimage. Midday – Local Life • Stop at the central bazaar in Nukus. Guests wander through stalls of spices, dried fish, produce, and local goods — a chance to see everyday Karakalpak life up close, not just monuments. Early Afternoon – Art & Story • Visit Bazarbay Serekeev's house museum, where guests see local artwork and hear the personal history behind it — a small, intimate contrast to the outdoor sites earlier in the day. Lunch – Hospitality • Sit down for a home-cooked meal at Bazarbay's house — either plov or the traditional Karakalpak dish beshbarmak — served in a real family home rather than a restaurant.
