We offer you this tour to explore the breathtaking natural beauty and amazing culture of Tsaatan reindeer people in the west taiga of the Northern Mongolia.
Activity: Horseback riding in West Taiga (beautiful stunning forested mountain and river valley). Reindeer riding & milking. Staying in Tsaatan Reindeer herder’s tribe and other unique experiences.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar to Murun
Morning earlier meet in your hotel lobby and we will head to the north from UB. On the way we passing by volcano Urantogoo. The volcano is not about climbing but this will be a good chance to take photographs. We will stop at Erdenet city for lunch and gas. On the way we passing by Ikh Uul mountain for photographs. Arrive to Murun we will stay at local hostel. /Lunch and dinner/
Day 2: Murun to Tsagaannuur
After breakfast at your hostel, we will meet with local driver and drive to Tsagaannuur town. The scenery will be eye capturing with Taiga forests, open grasslands, majestic mountains and occasionally seen nomadic dwelling ger, flocks of sheep, goats, horses and cattle including yaks of the nomads. We will have 2-3 stops in the mountain for lunch photographs. Upon arrival to the destination, we’ll get checked by the border staff and show our passport & permission for the taiga region. Stay in local guest house and prepare for tomorrow’s horse riding to the Tsaatan tribe. /B,L,D/
Day 3: Tsagaannuur
After breakfast we will re-organize our stuffs because we are leaving something (unnecessary) in the van. Our driver will remain in the town. Then we will meet our horse guide who is following us during the entire horseback riding trip. We will start our horseback adventure heading to West Taiga. We will have 2-3 stops for picnic lunch and photographs in the mountain. We will arrive to Tsaatan family in the afternoon and stay overnight in their dwelling “Teepee”. /B,L,D/
Day 4: Tsagaannuur
STAY WITH TSAATAN PEOPLE AND EXPEREINCE THEIR LIFE. We will spend this day among Tsaatan people in their tribe to learn about their distinctive way of life. Overnight in their dwelling “Teepee”. /B,L,D/
Day 5: Tsagaannuur
After breakfast we will depart from their village to Tsanaannuur village. After arrival in Tsagaannuur village we will meet with driver and head to Ulaan -Uul village. /It depends on horseback riding tour duration. If we will arrive in Tsagaannuur village late we will stay local guest house/. /B,L,D/
Day 6: Tsagaannuur to Murun
After breakfast we will drive to Murun. Check in local guest house and relax. /B,L,D/
Day 7: Murun to Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast we will meet with driver and drive back to UB. /B.L/
