Trekking In Sayram-ugam National Park & Turkistan City
About this tour
A two-day special tour combining Silk road history of the region and trekking in the wild mountains. Turkestan and the ancient cities Otyrar and Sauran in the desert. A real trekking along the trail in the wild and remote places of the Sairam-Ugam National Park. This tour can be carried out at any time, winter and summer.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Shymkent to Sayram-Ugam National park
Day 1 Early pick up from the hotel in Shymkent and departure to the Sayram-Ugam National Park (70 km). Arrival at the parking of the National Park. Start of trekking to the Sayram Lower Lake. The total length of the trail is about 8 km one way. Hiking to the lake along the trail will take about 3 (three) hours. Picnic on the trail in the juniper forest. Unique juniper forests and an amazing world of flora and fauna of the park. Mountain rivers with crystal clear glacial water. Fresh mountain air filled with the aromas of herbs. Reaching the Sayram Lower lake. Snacks, rest and photo session at the lake. Descent from the lake and return to the parking. End of trekking. Departure from the national park and transfer to the city.
Day 2: Shymkent to turkistan
Pick up from a hotel in Shymkent city. Direct drive to the ancient ruins of Otyrar (130 km). Ancient Otyrar is one of the ancient cities of Kazakhstan with the previous name Farab. Then transfer and visit to the medieval memorial complex Arystan-Bab, which is number one among the holy places in the entire Central Asian region. In the afternoon, transfer to the city of Turkistan (60 km). Lunch at a local restaurant and tasting of local nomadic cuisine. Accommodation at the hotel. Excursion to the famous mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and a visit to the main attractions of the complex. Evening walk through the entertainment complex Caravan Saray. Overnight in the city of Turkistan.
