Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Almaty to Big Almaty lake
Approximate itinerary for one day. Can be adapted according to the order. 9:00 - Pick up from the hotel in Almaty. Transfer to the Big Almaty Gorge (25 km from the city). Entrance to the Ile-Alatau National Park, where the waterfalls are located. 10:00 - Visit center in the Ayusay Valley and the beginning of the hike to the lower Ayusay waterfall. 10:30 - Photo session at the waterfall and continuation of the hike to the second waterfall. Rest at the second waterfall and a walk through the winter forest along the trail. 11:30 - Alternatively, climb further to the third Medvezhiy waterfall along the same trail about 5 km to the end of this gorge. Rest there. 13:30 - Descent to the Ayusay visit center. An open-air picnic near the center and a short excursion around the visitor center and to the natural spring near it. 14:30 - Transfer to the Alma-Arasan gorge a little lower from the Ayusay visit center. Start of the hike to the thermal spring along the trail along the river. 15:30 - Several stops on the trail to admire the views and take photos. Passing through the Alma-Arasan sanatorium along the same trail. 16:30 - Reaching the thermal spring in the Alma-Arasan gorge. First photo session. 17:30 - Descent to the parking lot at the bottom of the gorge. 18:30 - Transfer to the hotel in the city. End of the tour.
