Ski-tour And Freeride In Jyrgalan 8 Days
About this tour
There are Snow Heaven in the Jyrgalan valley. Small coal-mining village on the very East of Kyrgyz republic is located between 2 mountain ranges what made it filled with snow from November till end of March.
Surrounding relief gives you amount of options for great ski-touring routes and huge fun of downhill lines. As well there are possibility to use snow-cat and snowmobile rides for those who prefer ski as much as you can.
Where to accommodate? There are several options to choose from: budget homestay with locals, cozy yurt camp with sauna, authentic guest houses. Be sure that everywhere you’ll feel good service, Kyrgyz hospitality and eat delicious food.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Karakol, Kyrgyzstan
Early morning, we meet in Bishkek or in Manas international airport. Do last preparations, equipment check then drive to Karakol town. Road takes about 6 hours and 420 km. As an option on the way we can do hiking (3 hours) to beautiful sandstone castles of Konorchek red canyons (Depends on departure time from Bishkek). We will have a lunch in road cafe. After check-in in Karakol we go to have dinner in local café. Then we make briefing and lection about avalanche safety. Accommodation in hotel or guest house.
Day 2: Karakol, Kyrgyzstan to Jyrgalan, Kyrgyzstan
This day we spend on Karakol ski base. We will warm up on ski slope then find some off-piste lines that you can feel Kyrgyz snow. After lunch we refresh our skills during beeper search training. Then we pack our stuff and drive another 60 km to Jyrgalan. Accommodation: guest house \ yurt camp \ home stay
Day 3: Jyrgalan, Kyrgyzstan
After breakfast we will go ski-tour to the one of the great spots which offers us Jyrgalan valley. Depending of weather, snow and group conditions guide will choose the exact route for day. We will have lunch on skis with breathtaking views on surrounding mountains. Depending of the route it could be 1-3 runs down. We will come back to camp around 4 p.m. where we’ll be greeted with endless cups of tea and delicious dinner. And for warm up our bones and relax our muscles we will be welcomed to a hot sauna. Day 4: Jyrgalan, Kyrgyzstan
After breakfast we will go ski-tour to the one of the great spots which offers us Jyrgalan valley. Depending of weather, snow and group conditions guide will choose the exact route for day. Day 5: Jyrgalan, Kyrgyzstan
As an option this day we can go for snow-cat or snow mobile skiing. Normally we’ll do 4-5 runs on north slopes of Chunkurtor mount. We will have lunch in place called ice-bar enjoying the sun and chatting with other riders. After skiing we will drive to the hot springs in Ak-Suu gorge, where we can enjoy open-air bath with natural hot spring water. Accommodation: guest house \ yurt camp \ home stay
Day 6: Jyrgalan, Kyrgyzstan
After breakfast we will go ski-tour to the one of the great spots which offers us Jyrgalan valley. Depending on weather, snow and group conditions guide will choose the exact route for day. Day 7: Jyrgalan, Kyrgyzstan to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
After breakfast we pack our stuff and drive back to Bishkek. On the way we will make stop on seaside of Issyk-Kul lake to enjoy views of the biggest lake in Kyrgyzstan. Then we’ll drive to the place called “Fairy tale” for a short hike around red sand-stone canyons. At the evening we’ll arrive to Bishkek and go to restaurant to enjoy farewell dinner and sharing impressions from trip. Accommodation: guest house \ hotel
Day 8: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Manas International Airport, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
End of program. It is time to say good-bye to Kyrgyzstan and flight back home with head full of happy memories. Transfer to airport will be organized according your flight time.

We work only with professional experienced IFMGA mountain guides and aspirants of KMGA (Kyrgyz Mountain Guide Association). For the best safety during ski-tour we follow the ratio: 1 guide per 4 guests maximum. So, if there are 5 people in group, the second guide will join. We work with experienced drivers with a reliable 4WD transport. Program includes: - All transfers according the program - certified mountain guides according ratio 1:4 and guide’s expences - entrance tickets - ski-passes to Karakol ski-base
