Stay With A Nomadic Family Near Bayan-Ulgii

Stay with me and my family and experience how a nomadic Kazakh family lives in the Altai Mountains. Our village, Altai Sum, is situated around 5 hours from Bayan-Ulgii, the capital of Western Mongolia. We can pick you up at the airport/hotel in Ulgii or Khovd and bring you to our home. Most of the time, we live in our yurts in the mountains surrounding Altai Sum. You will live with us in the yurt and be part of our family for as long as you like (up to 14 days). Escape the modern, hectic and consumer-driver world and really go off-the-beaten-track and experience a real authentic adventure.

You will have the chance to learn about their customs and traditions and witness their daily routines. Depending on the season, you may be able to participate in activities such as milking cows or sheep, making dairy products, or helping with the herding of animals. You will also have the opportunity to taste traditional food and drink and learn about the methods of preparation. This experience provides a fascinating insight into a traditional way of life and a chance to connect with the natural world in a meaningful way.
