Day 1: Samarkand – Panjakent – Seven Lakes – Ruknobod Distance: ~190 km | Driving time: ~6 hours Your journey begins early in the morning in Samarkand, with a comfortable transfer to the Uzbekistan–Tajikistan border (Jartepa). Cross the border on foot Meet your Tajik guide and driver. Continue to Panjakent for a short orientation and preparation for the day Into the Mountains – Seven Lakes. Drive through the scenic Zeravshan Valley into the heart of the Fann Mountains. Explore the chain of seven lakes — Mijgon, Soya, Hushyor, Nophin, Khurdak, Marguzor, and Hazorchashma — each with its own unique color and character. Scenic stops at each lake. Easy walks and photography Stories and legends shared by your local guide. Picnic lunch by the lakeside. Day 2: Ruknobod – Voru Village – Samarkand Distance: ~180 km | Driving time: ~5 hours After a hearty breakfast, continue deeper into the mountains toward Voru Village. Voru Village – Living Heritage Hidden high in the mountains, Voru is one of the region’s most authentic and least-changed settlements. Guided walk through traditional stone houses. Learn about Sogdian heritage and ancient traditions Insight into daily life in a high-altitude village (~3,000 m) Cultural Interaction & Local Lunch. Engage with the local community through hands-on experiences such as: Simple handicraft activities. Local blacksmith workshops. Tea with a local family.
