Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Tashkent International Airport, Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Arrival in Tashkent. Breakfast in the hotel. Sightseeing tour in Tashkent. Visit Old City part of Tashkent with the Khast-Imam Complex where the world-famous Qoran of Caliph Uthman has been preserved. Explore Chorsu Bazaar. Lunch in a local restaurant. Then take a ride on Tashkent Metro to the city center to walk through Amir Timur Square, Independence Square, and visit Historical Museum. Enjoy free time in the afternoon. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel. Included meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 2: Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Bukhara, Uzbekistan
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the railway station early in the morning (7:20 am/ 11:20 am). Meeting with a local guide and driver at the railway station in Bukhara. Lunch in a local restaurant. Bukhara is the most ancient city in the East and it is called “fair tale city” – magical, beautiful and oriental. Bukhara is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Visit Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble, Magoki-Attori Mosque, ChorMinor Madrasah, trade domes, Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan madrasahs, Kalyan Minaret, Kalyan Mosque and Miri-Arab Madrasah, legendary Ark Fortress, Bolo-Khauz Mosque. Lunch in a local restaurant with Uzbek folk. Overnight at the hotel. Included meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 3: Bukhara, Uzbekistan to Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Breakfast in the hotel. Meeting with a local guide and driver. Continue sightseeing tour in Bukhara. Visit the summer residence of the last Bukhara emir – Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa. This is a unique building, the architecture of which combines oriental and Russian elements of décor. Continue excursion in the mausoleum of Bakhouddin Naqshbandi – the founder of the Sufi and in the Necropolis of Chor-Bakr – known as “the city of the dead”. Transfer to the railway station for the high-speed train (16:00 pm / 18:40 pm). Transfer to the hotel. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel. Included meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 4: Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Breakfast in the hotel. Meet with a local guide and driver at the hotel lobby to start the city tour. Sightseeing tour in Samarkand. Samarkand is called “Rome of East”. Visit spectacular Registan Square – the heart of Samarkand remains of Bibi Khanum Mosque, colorful local bazaar Siab, Ulugbek Observatory. Continue sightseeing tour and visit Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis and Gur-Emir Mausoleum, the final resting place of the Turco-Mongol emperor, Timur. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel. Day 5: Samarkand, Uzbekistan to Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the railway station and take high-speed train (departure time is at 10:10 and arrival time is at 14:00). Arrival in Tashkent, transfer to the hotel. Free time. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel. Included meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 6: Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Kochkor-Ata, Kyrgyzstan
TASHKENT BISHKEK (with the use of morning flight from Tashkent to Bishkek operating on Thursdays) – KOCHKOR (280 km, about 4-5 hours of driving) Arrive in Bishkek at 9:15 am. Meet with Kyrgyz Guide and Driver at the airport. Transfer to Kochkor. Former names were Stolypin and Kochkorka. Kochkor is now home to artisans who specialize in traditional Kyrgyz art, and who revive the traditions of the region and make sustainable souvenirs. Kochkor has become famous for its sharks and felt carpets, which are made in workshops around the city. On the way, we will stop not far from Tokmok town (60 km) and have an excursion to Burana Tower, a place on the Great Silk Road dated to the 11th century. Burana Tower stands 10 km (6 miles) to the south of Tokmok, all that remains of the ancient city of Balasagun. Though experts say that the tower was originally a minaret that stood twice as tall as it does today, Kyrgyz legends have another version of the story. We will visit the tower and museum on the territory. After on, we will continue our trip to Kochkor. Before dinner, we will visit women cooperative producing typical Kyrgyz felt carpets, which call “Shiyrdak’” and “Ala Kiiz”, where you can make your own small carpet. Dinner”. Overnight in the Hotel. Day 7: Kochkor-Ata, Kyrgyzstan to Tamga, Kyrgyzstan
Breakfast. After we will continue our trip to Issyk – Kul along the southern shore. Issyk Kul is the second largest mountain lake in the world after Titicaca Lake in South America. Issyk Kul –means warm lake, not freeze in winter as it is a salty lake with a length of 200km and wide is 60km, with the deepest place is 730m. Have a visit to Kyzyl Tuu village, here you can see how the wooden parts of the yurts (dwelling house of nomad people) are made, and even test it with your own hands. On the way, we will also stop in Fairy – Tale Canyon. Turning after Todor village towards Terskey Ala-Too mountains and after passing about 4 km, we will notice how mountains part, and immediately, as if by the wave of a magic stick we will find ourselves in this valley of fairytales. In Russian, the word Skazka means “Fairy Tale” and a place is certainly a magical place, full of mystery and mysticism, sufficient to stimulate the imagination of those with the inclination to stand, and stare, and wonder. Day 8: Tamga, Kyrgyzstan to Karakol, Kyrgyzstan
Breakfast. Transfer to Jetty-Oguz gorge. This place is famous for its red rock formations in the form of the Broken Heart and Seven Bulls, the translation of the place is «Seven Bulls». Local people tell a lot of legends about this place. We will enjoy beautiful mountain views and fresh air. Continue drive to Karakol. Upon arrival, a city tour of Karakol with visiting Russian Orthodox Church made of wood, Muslim Mosque in Chinese Style, central park, Handicraft shop and Museum of Prjevalsky, the Russian explorer of Central Asia areas. After the visit to the cultural places, we can have dinner with the local Uigur family (Uigurs are Chinese Muslims). Overnight in the hotel. Included meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 9: Karakol, Kyrgyzstan to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Breakfast. After moving to Bishkek along the northern shore of Issyk – Kul Lake. Optionally visit Ruh – Ordo Complex in Cholpon – Ata or do 1-hour cruise in the Lake. On the way visit, the Open Air Museum of Petroglyphs. The Open Air Museum, sometimes referred to as a Stone Garden, covers some 42 hectares and contains a number of prehistoric monumental structures (stone circles, tombs, the remains of a boundary stone wall, balls) and Petroglyphs (dating from the II millennium BC up to the Middle Ages up to the VI century AD). Upon arrival to Bishkek, city tour with visiting of Victory Square - the memorial for the fallen in WWII; Statue of Kurmandshan Datka - legendary fighter against the Russian occupation in 1862 - 1876. Her portrait is also on 50-Som bill figured; Alatoo Square - official holidays are held with parades in front of representative facades of government buildings; Panfilov Park - under shady trees children will find a variety of attractive amusements; Monument to Manas the Great, on horseback - first encounter with the country's most important historical figure, which is also the name of the Kyrgyz airline Air Manas; Osch-bazaar - it offers not only decorative goods of all kinds but also corresponding photo opportunities.
