We organized a 6-day tour through Kyrgyzstan with Kuba and were very satisfied. In addition to his excellent driving skills, he was attentive to our requests and very reliable. Even though he served only as our driver, we were able to learn a lot about the country and its neighbors. He arranged transfers and found good restaurants for us. By the end of the tour, we had become friends. We can wholeheartedly recommend Kuba.

I had a great 10 days with Kuba travelling around Kyrgyzstan and and am happy to recommend him to others. Kuba is a safe and steady driver who is skilled at negotiating some very tricky tracks in his 4x4 and was happy to undertake some quite long drives on the trip. Kuba privded insights into his country and the region as a whole, joined me on a few light hikes and was able to translate for me in a couple of museums. He is trustworthy and reliable and was a wonderful companion for the trip.

Kuba was a great driver and trip host! He was able to accommodate all we wanted to experience as well as book all guesthouses for us along the way! He 'knows a guy' for everything!! One of the best things about hiring him, was his ability and willingness to help us plan, provide options, real timing and logistics before we arrived via WhatsApp communication! It was great to have an in-country host to communicate with and plan with before we arrived.

He is a great human being, honest, and a very nice person. English is a bit of an issue, and also he is more of a diver than a guide. Very eager to please you, but does not know all the little secrets of the country as you would expect from a guide. He is an amazing human being. Please use him, but know what you want to do and where you want to go very clearly

We have had a great week with Kuba. We travelled from Osh to Karakol. Kuba was friendly, professional and always willing to help. We had made hotel reservations through booking.com, a lot of them did not work. Luckily Kuba knew homestays in the whole country, which made our trip great. I would strongly recommend Kuba to other tourist.

Our tour with Kubanychbek was 5 days. We drove from Bishkek to Karakol and through the central part of Kyrgyzstan arrived in Osh. Kubanychbek is a professional and a careful driver. The tour program was very flexible and adjusted to our interests. Kubanychbek is a good companion, the time on the road passed unnoticed. Kubanychbek was on the right time and we visited all the planned sights.

Last week, I did a tour from Dushanbe to Osh, using Kubanych`s services. I would like to give some feedback here. I booked the tour here in Indyguide about three months ago. The tour was designed for 11 days and should cost $ 95 per day per person. After booking the tour, Kubanych contacted me that he could not offer me the tour as I travel alone. Unfortunately, no fellow travelers could be found until my start date and so I had to pay a little bit more. That was fine for me, but I would recommend Kubanych for the future to note in the offer that this price does not apply to a single person. The communication up to my trip then ran smoothly and easily via Whatsapp. The first day I was picked up by one of Kubanych`s drivers (Joma) at my hostel in Dushanbe and the journey began. Actually, I was the only traveler so on the first day we drove to Qal`ai Khumb, where we had a very nice homestay and ended the evening together with our host. The next day, Joma told me that Kubanych`s route is very boring and suggested that we drive across the Wakhan Valley but also shorten the trip about three days. He explained me that he would charge $ 0.55 per kilometer for the extra distance (200km) but would pay me back $ 20 a day that we would shorten. Overall, I should pay $ 50 more. After some discussions, which were very cumbersome due to Joma`s very limited knowledge of English, I agreed, although I could see on all maps, that the route through the Wakhan Valley was not 200km extra (even with all the trips to the hot springs etc.). I wanted to be polite and not bargain for money and enjoy my journey. The tour of the Wakhan Valley was well worth it, as it is incredibly scenic and has many hot springs, forts and temples. Also, the Pamir Highway itself provides insights into beautiful landscapes, such as. Bulunkul, Yashikul and Karakul Lake. The nights were all well organized and always with very nice and hospitable families, who took care of everything. Also the food was with one exception always very delicious and good. The driver was very good in his role as driver. He drove very safe and solid on the sometimes very bad roads and stopped whenever it was desired for a quick photo stop. At the same time I have to say that he is rather less suitable as a tour guide for English-speaking guests, since his English is really only very basic. He could indeed the most important words like lunch or dinner or for example "Welcome to Murghab". In addition, the communication was unfortunately very difficult, to hardly possible. Any questions about the visited places could hardly or not at all be answered due to the communication problem, which I find very sad, since I was promised in the offer of Kubanych expressly an English-speaking tour guide. This unfortunately resulted in another problem that opened at the end of our tour. After I had an upset stomach on the penultimate day and I was not so good in combination with the altitude, I wanted to drive directly to Osh and omit Sary-Moghul. That was no problem for Joma and we actually drove straight to Osh. When I arrived there I asked if I would get some money back, for the non-driven route to Sary-Moghul and the last day, since he would have to pay neither for gasoline nor for my accommodation and food. Again, he could understand me very difficult and let me translate about a staff member of the hostel that it is indeed my fault because of my illness. So I turned to Kubanych because I would like to have at least a part back. I understand that it was my own fault, but I did not want to pay extra for 200km that we did not drive at all. In addition, I had to pay for all entries during the trip, although these were also included according to the offer. Kubanych was very cooperative and friendly and said that Joma would come over and pay me back for the trip to Sary-Moghul (about $ 35). After a few hours, Joma also came and gave me the money in tajik som. It was the equivalent of a little less. After my request, he answered only very rude and gave me to understand that he has no dollars, although he had received the day before, even my full costs in dollars. Overall, the organization and the tour itself was really nice. I would recommend anyone a tour with Kubanych. Only in advance costs & exact route should be discussed very well. And unless you speak Russian, you should insist on a driver who can speak English well to learn more about the landscape and culture. For example, Joma once showed me a path that, according to his statements, should lead to petroglyphs. After searching for petroglyphs everywhere, I found an old temple in the rock. I think Joma has not been around with too many guests yet. Enjoy your trips with Kubanych :)

My family and some friends, group of 20 people, had a wonderful trip in the Pamirs in July 2018. This was only made possible with Kuba and his team`s planning and assistance. Kuba arranged the route/transportation/lodging. He and his team of guides and drivers were very professional and helpful. In fact Kuba himself is an expert on Pamirs geography and culture. The trip took us all the way from Dushanbe to Osh, across the Pamirs plateau via legendary M41. And we also ventured off road into the heart of Big Pamir, arriving at the magnification Zorkul lake. This is a trip of lifetime, both in terms of landscape and culture. Kuba`s service is highly recommended.

We were the first clients Kuba took to the Wakhan Corridor in Afghanistan in July 2018. We had a great time! After driving through Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, we spent three nights in the Wakhan, visiting Sultan Ishkashim, Khandud and Kala-i-Panja. Kala-i-Panja has an interesting ruined fort, and Sultan Ishkashim’s bazaar is worth checking out. There is a very small bazaar in Khandud too. We stayed in the Marco Polo guesthouse in Sultan Ishkashim (good food) and Shah Ismail’s guesthouse in Kala-i-Panja (nice rooms). While it is expensive, and there are security concerns, we enjoyed our time in the Wakhan. The views of the mountains are quite different on the other side of the valley. Sultan Ishkashim is strikingly different in culture from the Tajik side, with women wearing blue burqas in the streets and men wearing kurtas. A few kilometres up the valley, the culture changes again and Wakhi women wear colourful clothing and some do not wear headscarves. Kuba is a careful and safe driver. He takes great care and pride in keeping his vehicle clean and tidy for guests. This is something of a miracle in the Wakhan, where the “road” is incredibly dusty! His Mitsubishi Montero was reliable and comfortable. There are not many cars in the Wakhan corridor, so we enjoyed being able to travel with a driver we trusted and in a car we were familiar with. One of the advantages of using Kuba’s services is that he speaks a lot of languages. Obviously he speaks Russian and Kyrgyz, but he also speaks good Wakhi which is very useful since most of the people in the Wakhan outside of Sultan Ishkashim speak Wakhi, as do the Tajik border guards. He also speaks some Tajik, which is similar to the Dari language spoken in Sultan Ishkashim. Kuba says that his English is not very good, but actually it is completely fine for 95% of situations you need to talk about! It is good enough for him to tell jokes and explain things about the sights you see on the road. For really complex matters, he has Google Translate on his phone. He can arrange English-speaking guides if you want, but we did not have one. Kuba has a number of contacts in Afghanistan, including local guides and guesthouse operators. However, communications are unreliable on the Afghan side, and the limited number of hiking guides can be out of cellphone reception for weeks at a time, so be prepared to wait. Similarly, although Kuba is usually quite fast to respond on WhatsApp and email, he does not have a secretary. Parts of the Pamir Highway do not have cell phone reception, and during the tourist season he is driving most days, so you may need to be patient while he answers the many messages he receives.

Kuba has organized our tour very well. He has always been kind and helpful. It gave us the chance to know a country and some wonderful people.

We really enjoyed our 16 days in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan with Kuba and Nicky. Kuba was very organised, he arranged great accomodation and was always happy to stop for us to take photos. The car was reliable and comfortable and we felt very safe with Kuba’s driving. Would definitely recommend!

I came across Indy Guide and all of the guides and their different tours. I finally made my choice to contact Kuba (guide) and we organized a wonderful 15 day Jeep - tour starting in Dushanbe, Tajikistan and ending in Osh1, Kyrgyzstan. He fetched me at my hotel in Dushanbe and off we were on this adventure. Kuba was friendly, helpful, patient and disciplined throughout the whole tour. His knowledge about all the different landscapes, villages, people, culture and history is exceptional. Kuba was always willing to stop whenever I wanted to take photos, videos and get some footage. He also always made sure that I am satisfied and happy with how things are going. I really enjoyed the tour, never had a dull moment or bad experience whatsoever! ubanych met me on the Tajikistan border and after 2 weeks we ended up in Bishkek. It was a most interesting trip which took me to many interesting and, sometimes, remote places and gave me an infinite opportunity to meet local people and to photograph. Kuba was a most pleasant and knowledgeable guide and we had a most relaxed trip together. He was always ready to stop for a photograph even when it was 45deg. outside. His interest and involvement in whatever we were doing was unexpected and added a lot to this trip. His local awareness and preparation as well as his flexibility were very much appreciated. Kyrgystan and the Pamir are the most amazing locations and to visit them with a local guide just adds to their value.The type of experience is seemingly endless and often so unexpected. Kubanych was a great guide and communicated very well with me prior to arrival. He checked up on me constantly after we departed to ensure I didn`t need anything. Highly recommended! No issues whatsoever.

It was a great tour ! Kubanych and his interpreter have been polite, funny and well organized companions, who have been very flexibel, when I wanted to change routes, etc. They allways kept their word and have been very reliable. Their knowledge about Kyrgyzstan is excellent, as well as their SUV-car was. We hadn t any breakdowns and K. is an excellent, save driver. I can fully recommend him for organising and executing a tour through Kyrgyzstan. Some minor negative aspects are not important to mention.
