Ochir founded his tour company in Darhan-Uul Aymag and has worked in Mongolian tourism since 2008. He drives for trips himself and his company arranges guides for travelers coming from abroad.
The trips cover much of Mongolia, from the Gobi desert in the south to Khuvsgul Lake in the north, with stops at Amarbayasgalant and Erdene Zuu monasteries, the Orkhon valley and waterfall, Kharkhorin, Khongor sand dunes and Hustai National Park. Activities include horse and camel riding, visits to nomadic and Kazakh families, and in the far north a trip to reindeer-herding Tsaatan families that involves travel permits and riding in by horse or reindeer.
Trips are planned day by day with set itineraries covering transport, meals, accommodation in gers, guesthouses or tents, and entry tickets, and can run from one day up to two weeks. Travelers are picked up on arrival in Ulaanbaatar or Darhan and driven in a 4x4 or similar vehicle, with an English-speaking guide included on the longer tours. Ochir describes wanting visitors to experience Mongolia's countryside and nomadic life directly, from arrival to departure.
Ochir was very responsive and arranged my one-day trip to Amarbayasgalant from Darkhan perfectly. Everything was according to agreed time, the 4x4 car was decent and the driver was friendly and professional. Good and timely communication with Ochir via Indyguide website made the prearrangements simple and not time-consuming. Overall I received truly exciting memories of this day exploring hidden beauties of Mongolia, and I will undoubtedly recommend contacting Ochir as potential host for one's future travelling.
I first contacted him back in December, desperately searching for a way to buy Naadam Festival tickets. Not only did he promise to help—he did it all in fluent German, my native language! Over the months, we stayed in touch, and when tickets finally went live, Otschir went above and beyond. He invested so much time and effort, tirelessly helping me navigate every hurdle. Thanks to him, the impossible became possible. Without Otschir I’d have been lost. Mongolia’s a challenging place for foreigners without the language, but he made it feel like home. Hero Nomads has a true hero in him!
Unforgettable tour and new friendships! I did a tour with Ochir this year and I am very satisfied. Oshir is a very experienced guide and fulfilled my wishes 100% at no extra cost to me. We had a lot of fun together and it was very enriching for me to see how everything works in Mongolia. I am very impressed by the landscape - the trip to Lake Hovsgul was particularly sensational. I left Mongolia with a heavy heart, but I made a new friend (Oshir). I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this wonderful trip possible for me. I will come back to Mongolia, not just for 14 days, but for a whole month. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!
