About this host
Pyerizat, who goes by Peka with travelers, runs a small tour company based in Bayan-Ölgii, in far Western Mongolia, the heart of Kazakh eagle hunter country. She plans the trips herself and works with a team of English-speaking guides, drivers and cooks who travel with guests on the ground.
Her specialty is Western Mongolia: the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, the Golden Eagle Festival and homestays with eagle hunter families, combined with horse and camel trekking and photography trips. Further afield, she and her team also arrange snow leopard observation, Gobi Desert journeys, Huvsgul Lake and reindeer herder (Tsaatan) visits.
Trips usually travel by 4x4 Russian van, with nights in tents, traditional gers or with nomadic families, and a cook preparing meals along the route. Groups tend to be small and private. Pyerizat corresponds closely with each traveler to build a custom itinerary around their dates, interests and budget, working out details like festival dates, national park permits and timing for photography.
She speaks of wanting to share the true spirit of nomadic life in Western Mongolia with the people who travel with her.

Not everything went exactly as planned during my tour, but that's certainly not a reason to take away a star. Peka remained professional throughout the entire trip and did everything possible to make it a great experience. I can confidently recommend this person to anyone considering Mongolian tour.
Peka is a local guide who pays incredible attention to detail. Because she knows Western Mongolia so well, she can put together really personalized trips according to seasons and whether. She's super thoughtful - not only does she take you to the festivals and sights you want to see, but she also arranges authentic activities that let you experience the unique nomadic culture of the Kazakh people. During the trip, she was incredibly attentive, often anticipating and meeting our needs before we even had to ask. Her team, including the driver and cook, were super professional while being just as friendly as she was. Western Mongolia has beautiful scenery, but what left the deepest impression on us was the local nomadic culture. We were only able to truly experience their way of life because of Peka's thoughtful arrangements, local network and knowledge. We can't imagine our trip being nearly as amazing without her.
It was an unforgettable experience traveling to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park! The stunning landscapes of the Altai mountains, with their snow-capped peaks, vast glaciers, and pristine lakes, were absolutely breathtaking. What made the trip even more special was the opportunity to immerse myself in the rich culture of the Kazakh nomads. Staying in traditional yurts, learning about their ancient customs, and witnessing the majestic art of eagle hunting was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The combination of incredible natural beauty and the warmth of the nomadic people made this journey something I will cherish forever.
