Asel runs a small local tour company based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, working with a team of guides, drivers and horsemen rather than guiding trips herself. She speaks English, French and Russian and has been arranging travel in Kyrgyzstan since 2020.
Her listings cover most of the country: multi-day horse riding and trekking trips to Song-Kul and Kol-Tor lakes, culture tours around Issyk-Kul and the Tien-Shan region, day trips from Bishkek such as Ala-Archa, Shamshy and the Burana Tower, plus a combined Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan tour. She and her team also offer self-drive and chauffeured car rental, from a Subaru Forester to a Lexus RX350 and a Mercedes Sprinter minibus, along with airport transfers.
A trip with Asel usually starts with a custom itinerary built around the traveler's interests and group size, then handed to one of her guides or drivers. Accommodation ranges from hotels and guesthouses to yurt camps and tents on trekking and horse routes, and vehicles are matched to the group, from a small jeep to a 18-seat minibus.
She describes travelling in Kyrgyzstan as a chance to meet nomadic shepherd families and see a way of life still tied to the mountains and seasonal pastures.
I spent a beautiful day in Kyrgyz countryside with Asel. It was perfect and exactly what I had been looking for just to get some better insight and understanding. I will plan to return for a longer customized stay in summer. Thank you!
Booked a kel-suu 3d/2n tour through Asel, but only to find out when the tour started that Asel was only a 3rd party and the tour was organized by a different company. The tour was nice, but not satisfied at all by the way Asel managed the whole thing. Most of the information given by her was misleading. The costs of the tour was almost double than with the organisers. She pushed us to make the payment on a certain day and only when we arrived at their office, we found out that we need to come back again the next day to pick up the permit. She could.ve arranged in a way to go only once..not having to stay in bishkek 2 consecutive days. When we asked how many people were in the tour, she said there will be 12. When asked a few days later, we were told 12-15. When the tour started, we found out there were 60 of us. When paying the 10% deposit for booking, we paid in euros, not having other currency option. When paying the rest of the amount, we were charged usd being forgotten the fact that the deposit was actually more than 10% because of the currency exchange. When she sent the brochure with the tour itinerary, it was mentioned that the permits costs were included. After a few days we were told that they are not, and we have to pay 30usd per person for the permits. The only thing that i appreciate about Asel was that she applied for the border permits without having the 10% booking deposit paid by us, because i didn.t have phone reception for 3 days to see her messages. Other than that, i do not recommend.
I wrote my request in a very detailed way and that was including airport pick up. In the last minute Asel said she didn’t see that pick up so I have to put extra money for that. I canceled the pick up with her but I still have the tour. I was expecting Asel to be the tour guid but she sent nice guy his English was very basic and that was difficult to deal with. I agreed with Asel we will have evening tour because It was too hot at noon. She agreed before I arrived then on the day of the tour she said sorry we have to do it now. I didnt enjoy the tour at all. I just threw some money. I finished the trip to early and I gave her my feedback and not even apology. Hope she will improve this in the future.
