Unforgettable Week in Georgia with Maka and Gega: Working with Maka to plan a roughly one-week trip through Georgia was an absolute delight. Everything was arranged seamlessly, making the entire journey smooth, convenient, and stress-free. The itinerary was packed with incredible highlights. Kazbegi was exceptionally scenic, and the unique local tapestry and tea masterclass were wonderful hands-on experiences. The wine tasting in Kakheti served as a memorable introduction to Georgian wine, providing great insight into the winemaking tradition and leaving behind a newfound appreciation to seek out Georgian wines back home in Japan. Tbilisi had a vibrant atmosphere, and good weather allowed for visits to all the major spots—with Sameba Church and the Chronicles of Georgia standing out as particular favorites. Additionally, the restaurant reservation Maka arranged offered a fantastic evening filled with delicious Georgian cuisine, traditional local dances, and live songs. A massive thank you goes to Gega, who was the assigned driver and guide for the trip. Gega quickly became far more than just a driver and guide—he felt like a true friend. Seeing Georgia through his lens made all the difference. He was remarkably kind, deeply passionate about Georgian culture and history, and endlessly patient with every request and question. Spending time together was effortless, sharing stories, exchanging cultural perspectives, and relying on his excellent recommendations for local wines to bring home. Gega played an essential role in making the trip so special and shaping unforgettable memories. Immense gratitude goes to both Maka and Gega for being such fantastic hosts. Their services are highly recommended to anyone planning a trip to Georgia, and a return visit in the future is already something to look forward to!
