Oriz was extremely professional and the car was perfectly suitable for the Pamir highway. We picked it up from Osh and drove it to Dushanbe. Oriz also helped us get our GBAO permits. The car was a 2008 Toyota Prado and came with a spare tire and plug kit and air compressor. Thankfully we didn’t need to use any of those. Oriz speaks fluent English and is very responsive on the telephone. He knows everyone along the Pamir highway and is able to deal with any problem that may arise along the way. Renting a car from Oriz was absolutely the best way to experience the Pamir highway for 10 days. I highly recommend. Cheers!

We rented a car from Oriz in Dushanbe, for our 12 day roadtrip to Osh. It was absolutely amazing! Oriz helped us with everything: the GBAO permit and also printed versions of the permit and passport (which you need for the checkpoints). He was always quickly responding. The car was very reliable, you need that on the bumpy roads ;-) In Dushanbe he took the time to give us clear instructions on using the 4x4. Nice to feel the confidence in each other, we felt very safe during the trip and recommend renting the car from Oriz for the Pamir Highway!

My husband and I had a wonderful 4-day trip across Tajikistan from Khujand to Panjakent, traveling via Iskanderkul and the Seven Lakes. Everything was very well organized from start to finish.
The 4x4 vehicle was comfortable and ideal for the mountain roads, making the journey smooth and enjoyable. Both Oriz and the driver were experienced, friendly, and always helpful, making us feel safe and well taken care of throughout the trip.
One of the highlights was that the driver showed us many beautiful Soviet mosaics along the way—something we wouldn’t have discovered on our own—which made the experience even more special and unique.

Oriz arranged Alfred to operate this 2 days Panjakent tour. He also recommended how to go from Samarkand to the border easily. Alfred picked up me at the border. He took care me very well as if I were his brother. The first day, we went around Panjakent. He brought me to explore the town like a local. The latter day, we went to the seven lakes. Alfred drove very good and he stopped everywhere I wanted to take a photo. He helped me to get lots of nice photos. I really appreciated this tour.

Really had an amazing trip with a guide that Oriz coordinated. Was very clear over Whatsapp where and when to meet the driver after the simple crossing at the border. After that we were collected and taken into the mountains. We had a picnic at the last lake with some of the food we bought in Panjakent which was very tasty. Excited to one day return to Tajikistan and would certainly not hesitate to book with Oriz again.

Oriz managed everything very competently. He gave quick answers to all our questions via Whatsapp and allowed us to flexibely adapt the tour based on our needs (pick-up from border). Our guide Afred also contacted us on Whatsapp the day before departure and we could precisely agree on the pick-up location and time. We enjoyed our trip with Oriz in Tajikistan. Oriz has an innate ability to combine his local knowledge with good humour and an easy going attitude. This made our time in Tajikistan relaxed and fun. For example, procuring vodka and cognac whilst we were at the Iscandarkul lake was a very nice surprise. I think a small group tour is not only about the history, scenery and lifestyle of the country that you are visiting but most important are the people that you meet along the way. As well, Dilik was the best driver we had across all three countries as he was part of the group and was quick with a smile. As a guide/driver team they work well together.

I have traveled with Oriz on the Pamir Highway twice: both times in October. As a guide, Oriz beautifully manages to balance professional guidance and friendly companionship. His knowledge is extensive, but he caters his guidance to the interests of his tourists. On my second trip I was traveling with old friends from university, and the memories of us hanging out with Oriz at the guesthouses stand out as particularly cherished. Another one of Oriz`s virtues as a professional guide is his flexibility and ability to arrange complex excursions. I can speak for his flexibility in the Wakhan altering our itinerary to find the ideal place to spend the night for photography. We canceled one night in Langar and stayed one night in Yamk (spelling?) instead. I can not recommend Oriz enthusiastically enough. If you are looking for friendly companionship that will show you the most generous and sincere aspects of Pamiri culture, Oriz is the man. If you are looking for professionalism in guidance, Oriz is still the man.
