Tohirbek, known to travelers as Tohir, runs a small tour company based in Khorugh, in Tajikistan's Pamir Mountains. He holds a degree in tourism and hotel management and built the business around the region he grew up in.
His trips concentrate on the Pamir Highway and its side valleys: the Bartang Valley and Sarez Lake, the Wakhan Valley, Jizeu village, and the long overland route between Dushanbe and Osh. The team also offers 4WD car rental and transfers along the highway.

We had a lovely experience traveling the Pamir Highway with Tohir. He was extremely knowledgeable and we learned an incredible amount from him about the Pamiri peoples and languages, Tajikistan’s relationship with Afghanistan and Russia, Tajik and Uzbek history, regional geopolitics, and the Islamic Golden Age. One of the things we appreciated most was how much Tohir genuinely loves the Pamirs and how proud he is to be from the region. It made traveling with someone with such a personal connection to the place particularly special. He was also an excellent driver. The hikes were some of the main highlights of the trip: Panorama Ridge hike and the Engels Meadow hike. Tohir was very flexible with our itinerary, including taking the optional one-hour detour to an old Soviet observatory, which ended up being another major highlight for us. A few suggestions for future travelers: we initially had slightly different conversational styles, and some of our exchanges were fairly brief, but over time, our conversations naturally became much more expansive, and we ultimately learned a tremendous amount from Tohir. Some of the logistics could have been communicated more clearly, like not initially knowing that we should buy our own snacks and drinks in advance of a full day of driving or hiking, and it wasn’t always clear which of the stops listed on the itinerary would be included or skipped. We would recommend future travelers to stock up on snacks and drinks beforehand. Finally, we chose a seven-day itinerary, which resulted in some very long driving days. This was not an issue with Tohir, but if we did the trip again, we would recommend 8–9 days to break up the drives. I can highly recommend Nazrulo, Tohirbek and their team. We did parts of the Pamir Trail in 2026 and arranged with them our transport to our trailhead in Margheb village and the journey back to Dushanbe from Vrang. In addition they organized the dispatch of multiple food packages to remote villages and small towns along our way. This logistical support was crucial to us, as it is very difficult to get calorie-rich, trekking friendly food along the way. Throughout our long planning phase and our two month journey we were extremely happy with the clear and reliable communication (via WhatsApp and InReach), valuable advice, and excellent organisation skills. Nazrulo speaks english like a native speaker and is as precise and capable as your best Swiss mountain guide. Everything worked just perfectly, we easily could pick up our precious packages along the way. The two day journey from Vrang back to Dushanbe was not just a long taxi ride but a pure delight. Our driver drove smoothly and safely over the difficult roads, suggested little sightseeing stops along the way and chose nice places to eat and rest. With these guys you will be in very capable, professional hands during your journey in Tajikistan.
An unforgettable journey on the Pamir Highway: Highly recommended! Our trip took us through the stunning landscapes of Tajikistan, exploring the Seven Lakes and driving along the legendary Pamir Highway all the way to the Chinese border. We booked our tour through Tohirbek, and although we didn't meet him in person—he entrusted us to a local driver named Habib—the entire experience was absolutely flawless. Unlike other situations where the 'contact-only' system can be disappointing, Tohirbek's choice of driver was spot on. Habib was incredibly professional, attentive, and always ready to help us navigate the various challenges and vicissitudes we encountered along the way (and given the rugged nature of the region, I assure you there were quite a few!). We are extremely satisfied with the level of care and attention dedicated to us throughout the entire journey. Everything was handled perfectly, and we absolutely recommend Tohirbek and Habib to anyone looking to explore this magnificent part of the world.
