Bishkek City Tour And Osh Bazaar - 1 Day
Starts in Bishkek, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Bishkek is the capital of Kyrgyzstan with the population of just over a million people. Despite being quite an international city with big expat community, it still has remnants of the Soviet Union (a status of in in the city center, statue of a Mother Heroine and soldiers dedicated to the II World war found on the Victory square) To feel the “Asianness” of this town you can roam through Osh bazaar, the biggest food bazaar in Kyrgyzstan blended by all the colors of the food world. Aigul arranged a trip for me with private transportation to Chon Kemin. The driver was waiting for me at the arranged time outside of my accommodation, the driver spoke little English but was friendly and professional and pointed some sights out to me along the way. We had lunch together at the guest house, the lunch was fantastic, homemade manti and lentil soup with other bit ands pieces. Then I went for a horse ride with the horse riding guide, it was super scenic over a not too step mountain, the horse was pretty chill - the nature out in this area is incredibly beautiful. Enjoyed my tour!

We have just completed a 3-day hike to Alakul Lake, which we booked through Aigul. The route was from Aksu Village to Altyn Arashan (14 km), then from Altyn Arashan to Alakul Pass and back (26 km), and finally back to Aksu Village (14 km) on the third day. The hike/s was/were definitely challenging, but absolutely worth it! We enjoyed the beautiful nature and had perfect weather throughout the trip. The accommodation in Altyn Arashan was also very nice, and visiting the hot springs after a long day of hiking was incredibly relaxing. Unfortunately, however, we were not completely satisfied with our guide. Since Aigul was unable to join us herself, another guide accompanied us. She was very kind and friendly, but unfortunately, she was not what we had expected from a guide. We paid €170 per person for a guided tour, expecting to have a local, English-speaking guide who could tell us more about the country, the region and the local culture, as well as properly guide and accompany us throughout the hike. Unfortunately, this was not really the case. Our guide walked very quickly, often several hundred metres ahead of us, which made us feel quite rushed and stressed. She only turned around occasionally to check whether we were still there. During our 10-hour hike to the pass, we only saw her at the beginning and perhaps 7 times along the way (and she took the pictures of us at the Alakul pass). At some points where we were unsure which way to go, she was not around at all. As a result, we did not really feel that we were being guided. In fact, we believe we would have reached Alakul Lake just as easily without a guide — and in the end, we essentially did the hike on our own anyway. For us, the main value of booking a guided tour would have been the combination of proper guidance and interesting information about the region and its culture. Since we unfortunately received neither, we would probably not choose a guided tour again in the future. That said, we still had a wonderful time overall and are very happy that we did the hike. The landscape, the weather, the accommodation and the hot springs made it a very memorable experience!

Absolutely an amazing trip. Aigul and all of her colleagues set up an incredible experience for me across four days, and I am extremely glad that I chose her as my guide/contact in Kyrgyzstan. Her team's flexibility in creating a trip with that fit both my schedule and interests was superb. For a very reasonable fee, I was able to experience the best of Bishkek, horse riding in Chon Kemin National Park, and a trip to the Burana Tower. If I return to Kyrgyzstan, I have no doubt in my mind that I will contact Aigul. I can recommend her and her team with 100% certainty.
