Islom is an excellent guide! He was extremely responsive and reliable for the tour preparation (Nukus-Muynak-Khiva) and frequently checked in with me during the tour while I was on the road with one of his drivers. The driver (Rashid) was very friendly as well and a responsible driver. The next day Islom did the second part of my tour himself (Khiva city tour + Transfer to Turkmen border). He is very knowledgeable about the history of the city and included nice authentic experiences besides the classical touristy things into the tour (e.g. breakfast at a melon stand at the road). Islom also speaks excellent English, which made the communication even easier. I can highly recommend booking a tour with him!

We spent two days with Islom in late March: Pickup in Samarkand - transfer to Aydar Yurt Camp with overnight stay - transfer to Buchara.
We traveled off-season and all Yurt camps only opened a week after the only date that was possible for us. Islom arranged a visit with the camp anyway - the full package: camel riding, a visit by a Kazakh folk singer sitting around the fire, amazing (and too much) food, sunset at Aydar Kul lake. The camp was still being set up and everything was a bit improvised to accomodate us - we definitely recommend staying at Aydar yurt camp during the season when everything us fully set up.
Islom is a safe and experienced driver. He is very knowledgable and tirelessly answered all our questions about Usbekistan. He has worked with tourists from many countries over the years he's been in tourism and ready to customise travel experiences according to very different interests. We were constantly offered food and he took (so, so many) snapshots during the trip to share with us afterwards. The unexpected highlight of our trip was a visit to a game of Kupkari (in short: 30/40 plus riders competing to catch and move a headless goat carcass across a field) that he heard about the day we arrived.
We had really a wonderful time with Franziska and Mareike. They were funny, open-minded and easy-going travelers I have ever met. It is the first time they have visited Uzbekistan and in my opinion they really enjoyed the destination. We had a trip to the yurt camp in Navoi region near Aydarkul lake and had some camel riding. They really liked sumalak, green somsa and the food from the yurt camp. On the way back to Bukhara, we were lucky to see national horse race game-Kupkari. I hope they will continue this amazing trip and fall in love with people and culture in Khiva as well.

Everything was perfect. Great host and tour guide. The transport provided was excellent also even for the long travel. Would have been ideal if the driver would also speak English but Islom is an excellent host and constantly called me to check if everything was working fine or not. Very happy.

This was a truly memorable experience thanks to our excellent and very hospitable local guide including a dinner with his family in traditional settings. He looked after all our needs and on the last day when after we flew back to Tashkent he kept calling us to make sure everything was alright up to the time we checked in for the flight home. Clearly the best local guide I have had in all my years of travel to different countries in Asia, Europe and Africa.

Yesterday I had Islom as my personal guide.
I had just one free day to go to Samarkand (all the trains were overbooked) so Islom took me by car from Tashkent to Samarkand and return.

Samarkand is amazing and Islom is the same.

He took me in a very traditional place for lunch (in a Uzbek family house), he took me around Samarkand to visit the most important spots, and all the trip has been smooth and pleasant.

The guide provided by the company knows the history and culture of Uzbekistan very well, and I did not expect such impressions. Islom our guide who drove us from Khiva to Tashkent over 10 days was brilliant. He has a wonderful sense of humor, full of wonderful little stories about his beloved Uzbekistan and its ancient history. Driving was entertaining and always offered to stop for pictures etc wherever you felt it was necessary. He never made it boring or dull during the sightseeing or long drives between cities.
